NJAMHAA Grievance Policy
NJAMHAA Continuing Education Grievance Policy
The New Jersey Association of Mental Health and Addiction Agencies, Inc. (NJAMHAA) takes all grievances seriously and is committed to addressing them in a timely and ethical manner.
A grievance includes any complaint made by a current, former, or potential participant regarding:
- An approved continuing education course,
- Promotional or educational materials,
- Course site, facilities, or technological resources.
⚠️ Please note: While all complaints are investigated thoroughly, NJAMHAA reserves the right to assess whether a complaint is made in good faith and is not intended solely to obtain a refund.
Filing a Grievance
Grievance Report Forms are publicly accessible and available for download on NJAMHAA’s website. A statement regarding grievance policy and form location is included on all registration materials and the website. A signed grievance form must be submitted within five (5) business days of the event conclusion by fax or other delivery method.
Grievance Review Process
Initial Review:
Within 10 days of receipt, NJAMHAA executive staff and members of the Conference Committee (including LCSWs and MSWs) will review the complaint.
Complainant Participation:
Complainants will be invited to a review meeting within 30 days to present their case and any supporting evidence—either formally or informally.
Decision & Notification:
NJAMHAA will issue a formal written response detailing its decision.
Corrective Action & Refunds:
If the complaint is upheld, NJAMHAA will take necessary corrective action and refund the registration fee(s).
Further Escalation
If the complainant remains dissatisfied, they will be advised on how to escalate the matter to the approval entity or the New Jersey Board of Social Work Examiners (NJBSWE). If no response is received from NJBSWE within 30 days, NJAMHAA will follow up. If NJBSWE rules in favor of the complainant, NJAMHAA will implement corrective action and issue a refund.
