Spring Conference Features Vision and Strategies to Strengthen NJ's Behavioral Healthcare System

NJAMHAA's Spring Conference, Evolving Behavioral Health, Advancing Together for 75 Years, will take place April 14 and 15, 2026, at the APA Hotel Woodbridge, Iselin, NJ.

On the first day, Stephen K. Klasko, MD, MBA, Executive in Residence, General Catalyst and Board Chair, Teleflex, — along with NJAMHAA’s own thought leaders Deborah Visconi, President and CEO, Bergen New Bridge Medical Center and Chair of the New Jersey Hospital Association’s Board of Trustees; Regina Widdows, MA, President and CEO, SERV Behavioral Health System, Inc. and NJAMHAA Board Member; and Bob Gold, Founder and Chief Behavioral Technologist, GoMo Health® — will explore the future of behavioral health through the integration of technology, innovation and human-centered care, and share practical strategies for preparing behavioral health organizations and professionals for the changes ahead.

The first day will also include a plenary session, Behavioral Health: New Jersey’s Landscape and Vision for the Future, with Dr. Stephen Cha, Commissioner, New Jersey Department of Human Services (DHS); Carmen Diaz-Petti, LCSW, Deputy Commissioner, New Jersey Department of Children and Families; and Valerie Mielke, MSW, Deputy Commissioner for Health Services, DHS. Day 1 will conclude with the Diamond Courage & Compassion Awards: Looking Back with Gratitude, Looking Forward with Hope Awards Reception. Honorees, who include state and federal legislators, behavioral healthcare providers and others who have made significant contributions through different roles, are listed farther below.

The second day will begin with an equally important keynote presentation, Transforming Mental Health Care: The Collaborative Care Model in Action, by Theresa Miskimen Rivera, MD, DLFAPA, President of the American Psychiatric Association. The Day 2 plenary, Behavioral Health Now and in the Future: Federal Policy and State Impacts, will be presented by Chuck Ingoglia, MSW, President and CEO, National Council for Mental Wellbeing.
